Berkeley, CA - August 12, 2009 - Cosmic Debris Etc. Inc., home of the popular teen icon Emily the Strange, and Marjorie Sharmat and Marc Simont, the co-creators of the children's book series Nate the Great, jointly announced an agreement resolving all disputes between them. Each side agreed to give up all claims against the other as part of their settlement.
"We are very glad to be able to put our differences behind us and to focus on the future," remarked artist and creator of Emily the Strange, Rob Reger. "Emily and we wish Marjorie and Marc great continued success with Nate the Great."
The agreement resolves a dispute concerning alleged similarities between Emily the Strange and Rosamond, a character featured in all of the Nate the Great Books. "We recognize that Emily and Rosamond are both unique and original characters, and we are pleased that we were able to resolve this dispute," said Marjorie Sharmat and Marc Simont. "We wish Rob, Cosmic Debris, Emily and her fans all the very best."
