Emily Unleashed New Strangeness

Embark on a journey to the freaky, deviant and cool world of Emily the Strange along with Rob Reger, the mastermind behind the beloved cult icon, at New York's Comic Con 2008. Publishing leader Dark Horse Comics is delighted to present unexpected happenings, exciting news and an all-around fascinating Emily experience for the media and fans alike.

This special event will feature a best-of-Emily mixed-media presentation, with seldom-seen celebrity and designer nods to everyone's favorite odd girl. Attendees will get a sneak peek at the new Emily video game and get a taste of what's happening with the production of the Emily movie, which will be produced by Mike Richardson, Dark Horse Comics' founder and producer of The Mask, 30 Days of Night, Hellboy, and other blockbuster films. You'll also be the first to hear news on the 2009 HarperCollins Emily novel series. Also included in the festivities will be a question-and-answer session, some cool giveaways, and other exciting surprises. Join Reger, Dark Horse's Director of Publicity Jeremy Atkins, and Emily co-writer Jessica Gruner at this not-to-be-missed affair.

Created by Reger and his company Cosmic Debris in 1993, Emily the Strange has become an internationally known icon for individualism, female empowerment, and do-it-yourself style. Born from the San Francisco graphic arts community, Emily graces a full, rock-influenced fashion clothing and accessory line, including everything from T-shirts, dresses, and underwear to toys, guitars, and school supplies. She is the featured character in a series of comic books from Dark Horse Comics, four hardbound Chronicle Books, and an upcoming series of young adult novels from HarperCollins Publishing.
